emodel.com, Options Talent GroupDear Modeling Scams, I got scouted by Options Talent not more than a month ago. I'm probably the 1,000th person to email you about this matter, and, I, too, was at the mall when it happened. I didn't pay the full $595 they wanted. They were really pushy on getting it, making it sound like they were really busy and stuff. The 'one year one interview' is what got me. I didn't have the money at the time; they gave me two days to come up with the money. I took so long because I was really leery and undecided on the matter. When I called back, I asked to talk to the girl who interviewed me. The first time she was "in a meeting," but the second time, when I said I had the money, she got on the phone with me pretty quickly. I decided I would make 50-dollar payments over three months to pay it off, so the payment isn't full yet. I just now stumbled onto your site... Holy crap! Do I feel like an idiot?! There are so many complaints it's mind boggling. I'm thinking about calling and canceling my payments, but is it too late? I would like to know if you can respond to me as soon as possible, so I can stop whatever they've taken from me now. Also... I went to a modeling convention for ProScout before Options "scouted" me. Have you heard anything on these people? I really want to do modeling with my life, but now I feel worthless... How do you get noticed? Thanks, T. P.S. Hope to hear from you before Saturday... that's when they take another $50 from my account. T., There have not been 1,000 complaints yet, you are not the 1,000th person to write, but at the current rate, there could be more than 1,000 complaints about Options Talent by this time next year on this website. If you are convinced Options Talent is a scam, you should cancel your payments, and block them from taking any more of your money. You did not specify if you paid by check, debit card, or credit card. If you paid by check, i.e., with several post-dated checks, each for $50, you could stop payment on each one of them. Consult your bank for details (if necessary). If you paid by debit card, you could be out of luck. Or perhaps you could spend what is left on your debit card some place else, instead of cash, credit card, etc., and use up the entire account before Options Talent can take any more of your money. One member of emodel said he tried to get out, but the bank told him he was out of luck because he used a debit card. He stopped paying emodel after the debit card expired or was used up. But maybe you can use the card for something else. Ask your bank re. your options. If you used a credit card, you could initiate a chargeback or whatever. Ask your credit card company what options you have. One woman and her sister who had just become a member of Options Talent found out the inside information about the company, and her sister closed her bank account before Options Talent took her money. Please note another complaint from an emodel member said emodel kept charging the monthly payments, even after she asked them to stop. In other words, don't assume just because they say they are going to stop taking your money, they will in fact do so. Make sure there is no way they can keep taking your money. There was a news story about how one emodel member tried to stop payments, and what happened, how she was double charged, twice!
